Our story

Drs. Mark and Cara both graduated from Case Western Reserve’s dental school in 1985. They are husband and wife, and they have looked after Hudson families together from this office since 1994. It has been a privilege to know many of our patients for over twenty years.

The family values they raised three daughters by are the same ideals they run the practice by. Honesty and integrity are key.

How we practice

Dental health care, not disease care.

We are a practice devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile with conservative, state-of-the-art procedures. Three things shape every visit.

A dental mirror, probe, toothbrush and floss laid out on a tray.
01

Prevention and education first

Thorough exams of your teeth and gums, an oral cancer exam, and x-rays only when necessary. Cleanings, flossing, sealants and fluoride all help prevent disease, and a review of your medical history keeps us informed of anything that could affect your dental health.

02

Uncompromising safety

To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross-contamination processes using the standards recommended by the ADA, OSHA and the Centers for Disease Control.

03

A positive experience

We understand how uneasy some patients feel about a dental visit. Treating every patient as an individual, and building trust, is how we make it relaxing instead. Should an emergency occur, we make every effort to see you as soon as possible.

Same day dentistry

A crown in one visit, not two.

CEREC® creates ceramic crowns, onlays, inlays and veneers here in the office, within minutes. Many treatments that used to mean a temporary and a second appointment are finished in a single visit.

  • 1. PhotographA camera captures the prepared tooth and builds a three-dimensional image of it on screen.
  • 2. DesignYour dentist examines the tooth from every angle and designs the restoration.
  • 3. MillA ceramic block matched to your tooth color is milled to that design in minutes.
  • 4. Fit and polishA dry fit for comfort, then the restoration is polished and bonded in place.

Fewer injections, fewer visits, and more of your natural tooth saved.

No temporary crown

The crown is made and placed at the same visit, so there is nothing temporary to wear in between.

Digital x-rays

An electronic sensor instead of film, viewed and enlarged instantly, with 80 to 90 percent less radiation.

Panoramic x-rays

A wraparound image of the face and teeth, taken from outside the mouth when it is needed, for example to see wisdom teeth or the sinus area.

Oral cancer exam

The face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues and gums, checked at your check-up.

Four people ask about most.

Dental Implants

Artificial roots, usually titanium, that replace missing teeth without touching the teeth beside them, or hold a denture firmly in place. Expect a number of visits over several months.

Dentures & Partials

Complete dentures when every tooth in an arch is missing, partials when some remain. Made from accurate impressions, with try-in visits for shape, color and fit.

LUMINEERS®

Ultra-thin porcelain for gaps, stains and misshapen teeth, fitted in just two appointments. The teeth, gums and bone underneath must be healthy first.

Teeth Whitening

Custom clear trays made from impressions of your own teeth, worn at home with whitening gel. Usually two visits, with a touch-up every few years.

Common questions

What people ask before they book.

Can a crown really be finished in one visit?

For most people, yes. With CEREC the tooth is photographed, the crown is designed on screen and milled from a ceramic block matched to your tooth color, then fitted and polished before you leave. The exceptions are patients with a history of breaking ceramic restorations and those with a deep bite. CEREC restorations are proven to last over five years, and recent research indicates most last more than ten.

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry suggests a first visit about six months after the first tooth appears, and no later than the first birthday. It is earlier than most parents expect, because a baby's teeth are at risk of decay as soon as they come in.

Are dental x-rays safe?

Digital x-rays reduce radiation by 80 to 90 percent compared with the already low exposure of traditional film. Even so, only the x-rays you need are taken, and a lead apron protects the body. A full series is recommended for new patients and is usually good for three to five years.

What happens at a check-up?

Your dentist and hygienist review any x-rays, screen for oral cancer, check your gums and every tooth surface, and look over existing fillings and crowns. The cleaning removes tartar and plaque and polishes away stain.

A tooth has been knocked out. What do I do?

Call us straight away. Pick the tooth up by the crown, never the root, and rinse it under warm water. If you can, place it back in its socket; if not, tuck it into your cheek or keep it in milk so it does not dry out. A tooth replaced within an hour has a chance of reattaching.

Do you have early or late appointments?

Yes. We open at 7:00 am on Fridays and 7:30 am on Thursdays, and stay until 8:00 pm on Tuesdays, so a visit does not have to cost a day at work or school.

How can I pay for treatment?

We accept dental insurance and credit cards, and we accept CareCredit, a healthcare credit card that can be used to pay for treatment over time.
